Stop Press New Petition

Thank you to everyone who has signed our petition to get hybrid and hydrogen buses for Hackney. We have achieved 600 online and paper signatures in four months despite being a small local-interest campaign.

However the high level of interest in our campaign from a wider London area and national press has led to a re-think.

Air pollution is a problem that afflicts everyone in inner London and the solution will be London wide. Better buses will contribute to cleaning our air but we need an ambitious scheme that will reduce diesel fuelled traffic of every kind throughout London if air pollution levels are going to meet legal limits. 

Therefore please sign our new petition which simply asks the Mayor to reduce air pollution to legal limits by 2020 within all inner London boroughs. A generation of pre-schoolers, primary school children and elderly people cannot wait until 2030 for something to be done.
